What We Celebrate

Diversity and Inclusion

"Cultural diversity. I love that my children will grow up with classmates representing multiple cultures and countries. To them, a diverse world will be their normal."

Teachers and Staff

"Talented and caring teachers. Our kids absorb the values and excitement their teachers display for seven hours a day. Hugely formative for them to have teachers who teach well."

Character Development

"Respect. Teaching our students to be respectful of teachers, staff, other students, themselves, and their school is vital."

Curriculum and Programs

"The arts, sciences, and personal development. School is one of the only times in one's life that the full breadth of humanities, sciences, and extracurricular activities can be experienced."

Academic Excellence

"Joy in attending school and education. A desire for learning and enjoyment in growth is my top priority as a parent."

Opportunities For Improvement

Curriculum and Programs

"There are too many hidden gems; if you don't know what or how to ask your child may miss out. It is really important that EVERY child have access to ALL of the programing available at their AAPS."

Behavioral Support and Counselling

"We MUST, we MUST, increase the counseling staff. The middle schools have to be restored to 3 full-time counselors. Not high school deans. Counselors. Mental health issues for our students are increasing at an alarming rate. Counselors are stretched too thin. These are our most fragile students."

Teachers and Staff

"Increase teacher pay. These amazing men and women do so much, work so hard, and all for so little. We need to value education, and we need our tax dollars to show it!"

Facilities and Infrastructure

"Lockers not practical - Books should be kept in classroom. Kids are lugging ridiculously heavy backpacks because there is no time to use a locker in between. Students having back issues at their ages is bad."

Meet Different Learning Needs

"I would like to see a focus on guided math to appropriately challenge our varied level math learners. Guided reading has been very successful in reaching each child at their level. We do not seem to have a similar approach to math."
